Computer: AMD Athlon XP CPU

Recording software: Audacity v1.2.3 (IMPORTANT NOTE: make sure you select “line-in” as your source in the mic toolbar)
mp3 Encoder: dBpowerAMP Music Converter using LAME codec
mp3 Tag editor: Media Tagger
Cable to PC sound card input: 6-Ft Specialty Y-Adapter, Catalog #: 42-2483
Cable to ipod headphone jack: 6′ Gold Series Y-Adapter Audio Cable, Catalog #: 42-2551
(Note: either of these cables can be used, so you could get two of one kind if you like)

Post processing in Audacity:
– Edit show
– Apply “Compressor” from “Effects” menu
– Apply “Normalize…” from “Effects” menu
– Apply “Amplify” from “Effects” menu to -0.02 dB
– Export as WAV
Encoding to mp3 with dBpowerAMP:
– Select WAV made with Audacity
– Encode using LAME codec at 96 kbps bit rate & 44.100 kHz sample rate
Creating & editing ID3 tag in Media Tagger:
– Select the mp3 and click on the ID3 tab to edit
– Save tag by selecting “F2” key
Upload file to server and post to blog
