Question? How does a person that does no drink at all learn about the wines out there and what is good with what and what is the best out there?
I do not drink, but I have many friends and family that enjoy wine. I always feel left out and want to be able to intelligently comment on the wines they drink.
Most of us got into wine by tasting different wines and reading books. There are a bunch of good entry level books on wine like the Wall Street Journal Guide to Wine and Secrets from The Wine Diva. I also recommend you check out the Wine for Newbies podcast (http://winefornewbies.net) which you can start from the beginning and work your way through. You can also read wine blogs, such as the excellent ones linked at this post.
The main thing is to find out what you enjoy and continually learn by tasting.
