I was hoping for some new Mac hardware or software from Apple, actually. The iPhone has some amazing technology, but I’m not sure yet that I’ll be looking to acquire one (even though we’ve got 3 Macs and 2 video iPods in the family). I don’t use a cell phone much (ask my wife), but the notion of having a portable web browser and email device that is this beautiful is appealing. I’m going to have to watch the keynote webcast to get a better feel for it.
But it sure looks awfully nice, I’ll say that much. 🙂
I think it is possible that da Vinci does work for Apple 😉
I also think this is a huge deal for wine bloggers as our work can now be easily portable. The Wine 2.0 tasting notes and cellar tracking sites now look a lot more interesting if you can browse them and add notes anywhere you are… those who add iPhone friendly pages will be the winners. I’m working on mine now.
That’s why you should do video, man. If not live action, then some animated shorts starring the rubber chicken. You could probably do some funny bits filming your cats and then dubbing in your voices, too. You have about 6 months to figure this out before iPhone launches…
At $600 a pop Vine Spot is expecting some good entertainment El Jefe. I wonder how many people will be breaking their contracts to jump on the bandwagon. It is a stylish and sophisticated piece, and with the 8 gig model one could save a lot of Twisted videos!
You might be waiting a little longer. In the meantime, please watch “Robot Chicken” reruns. I’m pretty sure anything I come up with will be similar to that….
Please notice that I managed to resist making any remarks about my “animated shorts.” I’m very proud of myself…
Thanks for the tip, Jason, on IE 7. It, indeed, looks bad (sorry). A custom (hacked) CSS in the works unless the theme’s author has an update. In the meantime, use Firefox, Opera or Safari 😉
Great news on your mobile version of WineLog… let’s hope el jefe gets the memo.

God, their stuff is BEAUTIFUL. If da Vinci were alive he’d work for Apple, no question.

Wow – so everyone will be carrying El Jefe around in their pockets… the mind reels…
El Jefe,

Ok, the mobile chatter is at a point where I need to get something done. Let me set an ultimatum (you heard it here first):
WineLog will have a mobile-friendly version, for accessing your wine log and our database, by Valentines day.
Hopefully this will coincide with the release of El Jefe TV, El Jefe the animated series, or whatever it’s going to be.
p.s. Your blog formats funny in IE7. You might want to look into that.
