I picked up Zin last night – some Pepperwood Old Vine and some Gnarly Bear.
You know the Pepperwood is not too bad for the price; haven’t tried the Gnarly Bear. Let me know what you think.
Have a great Thanksgiving, Garrick.

As usual, our Zin choice will be the latest release (2004) of Ridge Lytton Springs. It will be accompanied by a Pinot Noir which I have yet to determine! As I am sticking with domestic wines, I am cosidering one of Brian Loring’s current releases; perhaps Rosella’s or Brosseau vineyard. Curses, too many choices!!! I guess we’ll have to continue the celebration Friday!
Happy Thanksgiving and thanks for all your great work here.

Great choice, Pat. In fact, I’ve tasted the ’04 Lytton Springs twice this year, the first time at ZAP where I rated it a 9/10 and again in a blind tasting this summer where I rated it 17/20. A great Zin but the tannins are pretty firm now so I’d decant a couple of hours before dinner.
Happy Thanksgiving!
