I was just scanning my Bloglines and noticed a post by Ben over at Pinot Island. It is almost surreal that this blog could be tied for 5th with LENNDEVOURS. Oh, it’s based on search engine optimization and not the quality of the content. That said, it is an honor to be in such company and find that I subscribe to nearly all of the top 20. A Happy New Year, indeed.
bloody hell I’m THIRD!
OK so it is not based on content but it seems a little more than just SE optimization… ok, maybe not a whole lot more but the fact that people link to a specific blog means the content must be of relevance/interest.
Congratulations, Andrew; well deserved, as are the others at the top of the list, so there might be some logic to the ratings after all.
My original post was a little tounge-in-cheek. Still, who doesn’t like to see a big list with your own site near the top?
I’d be really interested to see the actual formula used. I know my site does really well when you search for anything much to do with Tasmanian wine but I’ve picked a niche and I’m sticking to it!
I’ll leave the wide-ranging wine blogging to those with more experience than me.
I love your niche Ben, like Len I think your specialisation is just what you should do given your location. I have played with the idea of doing a niche English wine blog but most are too pants to get me excited about…
Ben…don’t deny your niche-prowess…we will rule the world some day!
okay, maybe not, but I saw this list and was curious about the formula as well. But hey, I’ll take it!
