Today’s show is about Petite Sirah and I continue my basic wine tasting series focusing on wine’s color and appearance.
Wines tasted:
– Foppiano Petite Sirah, Sonoma County 2000 ($20)
– Concannon Vineyards, Petite Sirah, Central Coast 2001 ($13)
– Bogle, Petite Sirah, California 2002 ($12)

Good podcast on petite sirah, Tim. Your listeners will also enjoy the petite sirah from Vincent Arroyo. He’s a “cult” PS winemaker up in Calistoga… sells only on futures (sells out quickly) and his is one of the finest examples of the varietal in the US, in my opinion… Visit him and his dog JJ in the barn. Worth the off-the-track stop…
Thanks for the tip on Vincent Arroyo Winery Pet, Brad. I’ll be in Napa and Sonoma for a couple of days this June and will put them on my list to stop by…
Loving the show. Getting caught up on the backlog. I had never actually noticed Petite Sirah before but when I went into my wine shop last night the Concannon was featured at the entrance. Got it, tried it, loved it.
Thanks and keep up the good work.
