Mike commented to one of my posts yesterday about errors he was having with an aggregator called, Nimiq. I loaded it on my laptop (running Windows XP Professional) and tried to download the Winecast feed. Of course, it worked the first time so I sent Mike an email with the news and suggested he upgrade to the latest release and try again.
Later in the day, I loaded Nimiq on my main desktop system here (running Windows XP Home) and it presented the same error Mike was talking about (something about an HTTP sharing violation, blah, blah, blah…). So a bit of Googling later, I came across a workaround that enables downloading of the Winecast feed. To make it easy for you, just download this file into your Nimiq folder (default location is C:>Program Files>Nimiq). Restart Nimiq and hit the feed and it works!
Must be some sort of .NET issue, but if you are having problems downloading Winecast with Nimiq this will fix it. Nimiq is a Windows only client, BTW. Their badge is in the, “Meta” section to the lower right menu.
