While I don't think Nachtgold really compares with the most expensive eiswein on the market, it is an excellent value for money. I brought a $90 bottle back from Germany a few years ago and we fell in love with it. My wife was hooked. When we stumbled upon the deal at Sam's, we bought the entire case they had in. The staff wondered what was so special that we would walk out with 18 bottles. I told them to try it. We were back in the store the next month and one of the girls working there came up to us and said she and her friends tried it and got hooked too. We're drinking a 2004 bottle right now. My mom is visiting and I told her she had to try it. My grandmother is German and loved seeing the bottle. I had a Thanksgiving dinner for a bunch of people last year and opened a few bottles.
