Great question; I would order two separate wines by the glass.  A dry white or rose for the salad and a hearty red like Cabernet or Zinfandel for the steak.  If the salad had steak on it, a bottle of Pinot Noir might work for both entrees, as well.  Thanks for the link...</description>
