Osborne, Solaz, Spain 2003 ($7) – A blend of 80% Tempranillo and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. Ruby color, bright black cherry nose with forward cherry flavors. Fairly decent value and good house wine. Score: 7.5/10

From a quick search on WineZap, it looks like you can buy Solaz at Mad Wine in Bellevue for $6.99 a bottle. Let me know what you think of it.

WOW!!!! We ordered cases of this wine for my son’s wedding. Then we watched (and laughed) as guest after guest started asking the bartenders for the empty bottles. They wanted to take the bottles home for reference. At $5.00 a bottle this is one of the best reds I have ever tasted at any prince.

Somehow many inexpensive Tempranillo have this effect, Maureen. Looks like the 2004 is now starting to show up in distribution here in the U.S. so it’s about time to try it once again… glad your guests enjoyed it!
