US to be world’s largest consumer of wine

Here’s a piece that is both encouraging and distressing at the same time. For the US to really become a wine drinking nation, the average price will need to be more in line with France and Italy.

“The average U.S. retail price of a bottle of wine, according to VinExpo, is more than twice as expensive as the typical bottle sold in France, and more than three times the average in Italy.”
